Would you like to gain volunteer experience and assist an inspiring organization while visiting Mill Reef this season?

Volunteer opportunities are currently available at four of the organizations the Mill Reef Fund supports. Please consider the details. If something seems like a good fit for your interests, talents, and availability, email us at to sign up. Please include:

  • Only for National Sailing Academy: Whether you prefer to volunteer in the morning or afternoon

St. John Hospice

Volunteer opportunities: Reading to patients, helping with meals, wheeling patients in the garden, gardening, donating baked goods, and/or assisting in the organization’s thrift shop. Volunteers are welcome Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-noon. 

Location: Holberton Complex, Factory Road  (approximately a 35-minute drive from MRC) 

Hands Across the Sea Schools

Volunteer opportunities: Helping select appropriate books to read aloud to primary school students and reading to the children. Volunteers are welcome Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-noon.

Location: Drive time from MRC varies depending on each school’s location.

National Sailing Academy

Volunteer opportunities: Mornings, 10 a.m.-noon, assisting the sailing instructors with programs for differently-abled children; afternoons, 2 p.m.-4 p.m., helping sailing instructors with after-school sailing programs.

Must be at least 16, able to swim, and have some sailing experience.

Location: Dockyard Drive, English Harbour (approximately a 30-minute drive from MRC)

Museum of Antigua and Barbuda

Volunteer opportunities: Assisting research staff with archival documentation. Participating occasionally in onsite archeological work, including identifying and categorizing artifacts. Volunteers welcome Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-noon.

Location: Corner of Long and Market Streets, St. John’s (approximately a 40-minute drive from MRC)

Mill Reef Fund Advisory Initiative: Share Your Expertise

We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of our Advisory Initiative at the Mill Reef Fund. We believe in the power of collective knowledge, and this initiative aims to utilize the professional expertise of MRC members to make a difference for the many organizations we support.

If you have professional experience in areas such as business strategies, marketing, finance, law, medicine, or any other relevant field, we’d love to hear from you. Your guidance, either in person or via virtual meetings, can significantly aid the organizations we support, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.
